Testimonials

ADAC has offered services for my family for almost 10 years. I am a Foster parent who has taken all my Foster Children to ADAC to participate in the many programs. They have been a positive influence for my children, blessings of support with a safe place, homework help, nutritional after-school snacks and still enable interaction for children to have a chance to make new friends! ADAC has introduced many opportunities for children to build self esteem through participation in performances for parents to see their children shine. There have been many trips and events. It’s an organization that has been serving our community for many years. They help strengthen parents emotionally, academically and definitely socially! - S.S.

My family has been involved with ADAC for 3 years now since my son started kindergarten. As a single mom working full time, the program was a beacon of hope. I love ADAC for many reasons. It gives my son something positive to do after school. ADAC not only helps with homework and provides a safe haven for kids, but it teaches them the dangers of drugs and alcohol, reinforcing what I teach at home. We live in a part of the city that is riddled with drugs, violence and crime. My biggest fear is to lose my only child to the streets. ADAC gives the kids of the community something positive to do and show other opportunities. The staff are always looking for new things to expose the kids to. Last year they had a computer coding class which my son looked forward to each week. The staff always has a listening ear, open heart and helping hand. They are an excellent and critical part of the community. - M.W.

We fully support Anti-Drug and Alcohol Crusaders, Inc. We have partnered and collaborated with ADAC continually in our Summer Career Exploration Program also known as Workready. They have been a huge supporter to our youth leadership training, workforce development and mentorship we do here. We have worked with ADAC and their staff for over 5 years in the WorkReady program, they prepare our students to work independently in a learning environment with adults who care about the skills learned during the 6 weeks. We have sent over 25 students to work with their 6-weeks summer camp program and the students are often the key component that keeps ADAC a mentoring and learning environment. We send youth to ADAC because they will have a safe, protective, learning environment for students that are working toward self-sufficiency and independence.

After hearing more about ADAC I volunteered some time with them, organizing a weekly music class with the kids. I had a chance to personally interact with the staff. I’ve gotten to see firsthand the care that they exercise in providing thoughtful programming for the kids. I’ve also seen how beneficial this program has been for the parents, as it allows them additional time to work and provide for their families since their kids have a safe place to have fun after school hours.
